Doctor Who in the U.S.A.

Could it be true? Is the Doctor coming to the U.S. to film? Or will it be like Daleks in Manhattan, set in the U.S. but filmed in the U.K.?

Via the press association
ctor Who is set to take his sonic screwdriver to the States.

The Tardis will land in 1960s Utah for the opening episode of series six of the BBC favourite.

Set to be filmed later this year, the plotline will take The Doctor and his sidekicks from the deserts of the western state to the Oval Office.

Co-produced with BBC America, it is the first time filming for the long-running show has taken place on location in the US.

During filming, regulars Matt Smith, Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill will be joined by Alex Kingston, who will reprise her role as River Song

Production for the series will start in Cardiff this month, with US filming slated for November.

Lead writer Steven Moffat said: "The Doctor has visited every weird and wonderful planet you can imagine, so he was bound to get round to America eventually.

"And of course every Doctor Who fan will be jumping up and down and saying he's been in America before.

"But not for real, not on location and not with a story like this one."

reBlog from ideasandminds.com: Ideas And Minds

I found this fascinating quote today:

A while back I purchased this domain with the desire to turn it into a social networking site for aspiring dreamers, thinkers, inventors, and skilled professionals all to gather and throw ideas around to collaborate on the future.  I thought I would create a site that attracted people with varied skills and concepts.  It could attract the marketers to market products and services that someone wanted to get exposure for or much more.  In reality that site was never created.  I had the Idea, just not the time with my work schedule and a very nasty divorce.ideasandminds.com, Ideas And Minds, Mar 2010

Doctor What Deadly Genesis Part 1

Here is a classic episode of Doctor What, its the origin tale of the hero and his evil brother Lord Vaughn. Filmed in 2008, Genesis is a prequel to the first four adventures, the very first being shot in 1999, and forever lost. So we thought it was time to go back and make it fresh and new so sit back and enjoy it, I know we enjoyed making it!

Christopher Nolan Mentoring for Superman?

Christopher NolanImage via Wikipedia
It is being reported that Christopher Nolan the Director of the previous two Batman Films will be working on the future of the Superman films. See the Superherohype article here. He will be "Mentoring" not producing or directing but mentoring. I think that is a wonderful idea that maybe DC should do with other films.

In general he has been the only one to successfully breathe life into any DC film in the 21st century.

With them falling behind so badly it is about time. Will we see a vibrant future at DC? Can they reach or surpass Marvel films? This looks like a wise step.
